Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Steven Dow developed a strong interest in caring for animals when he was a young boy working for his grandfather's horse and hay business. His compassion for animals, combined with an aptitude for science, led him to choose veterinary medicine as his career. Dr. Dow received his B.S. degree in animal science from the University of Arizona. Following a tour of duty in Vietnam as an army airborne ranger infantry-officer, he returned to the U of A for his M.S. degree, and in 1978 he earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. Dr. Dow joined the medical staff of PAH in 1978. He is currently serving a term as a Governor appointed member of the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board. Dr. Dow enjoys staying fit by biking and mountain climbing. |

Dr. Bryan Nolte was raised on a ranch surrounded by animals and set his sights high on veterinary medicine early in his life. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, and became a member of the PAH staff in 1997. Dr. Nolte is a member of the AZVMA and AVMA and regularly attends seminars and continuing education courses. His special veterinary interests range from equine reproduction, lameness and performance, to bovine (cattle) reproduction. Dr. Nolte is an avid outdoor-activity enthusiast and enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, basketball and baseball. |

Dr. Kenneth Skinner has a life long dedication to animals that naturally led him to a career as a veterinarian. Dr. Skinner emphasizes preventative medicine and strives to offer comprehensive healthcare that fits the needs of his patients and their families. As an Arizona native, he received his bachelors degree in Zoology from Northern Arizona University. Prior to attending Veterinary school, he worked on a master's degree in Agribusiness at Arizona State University. In 2001, Dr. Skinner received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University and returned to Arizona. He joined the professional staff at PAH in 2004. Dr. Skinner's professional interest include mixed animal medicine along with soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, advance diagnostic medicine technologies, animal behavior and the human-animal bond. When he is not spending time with his family, he is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, softball and fly-fishing. As a member of the Search and Rescue Unit of the Sheriffs Department, he spends time training and searching when called upon. Dr. Skinner strives to make quality time for his family and profession. |
